Spring Fashion Forecast

While coats are still a must-have layer in many locations, spring is upon us in every fashion retail store and website. I have loved compiling fashion files for each season ever since I was a teenager. I would cut out pictures of upcoming trends from all of the major fashion magazines, and glue them into folders labeled with each season. Now I do the same thing electronically, and I am happy to share it with you!
First up is the Americana trend, and with the Olympics in full swing, it’s no surprise that stars and stripes are appearing on practically everything. Here are a few of my favorites that will last through spring and summer.

What would spring fashion be without pretty florals and sun dresses? This year it’s about the flowy fabric and feminine details, including ruffles, drapey sleeves, and pretty floral prints. I also included a romper because their popularity has carried over from last spring and summer.

Girl, it’s about jeans all day, everyday, all year long! This year there seems to be an “anything goes” perspective toward denim, and designers have come up with a full spectrum of styles. There is something for everyone, and that’s so nice because we all have our preferences when it comes to jeans. Here are a few of my favorites.

Since spring weather can be fickle, it’s always nice to have a light-weight jacket on hand, and this year the parka and denim jacket are at the top of the trends. Pastels are making their way into spring jackets, and the baby pinks and baby blues are quite versatile. I also like to keep my biker jacket out as well for a chic option to pair with dresses and denim.

Bold and vivid hues are staples for spring and summer, and this year there are some gorgeous Crayola brights that are so cheerful. I think wearing them at the end of winter has a way of making spring arrive sooner! That’s my hope anyway!
